Fall back into your self-care routine

The season of fall is associated with the Lungs and the Metal element in Chinese Medicine. It’s a time to start turning within, to clarify what you most value, and to get back into healthy nourishing self-care routines.

In the fall we become acutely aware that there are never enough hours in the day. Prioritize what is most valuable to you and renew your commitment to health.  Are there tasks that are occupying your time that are preventing you from eating well, exercising regularly and spending quality time with loved ones?

Fall is a great time to get back into your acupuncture routine, especially if you suffer from colds, pneumonia, asthma, depression, fatigue, arthritis, or any condition that worsens in the winter months.

In addition to acupuncture we have several herbal formulas to help boost your immunity. Some formulas are to be taken as preventative support and others help you get over your cold or lingering symptoms faster. Below are a few highlights of some of our immune support products.

We have several great products in the clinic to help your immune system stay strong and recover from a cold.

  • Cocoglow Daily Broth for Immunity. Nutrient-dense adaptogens, mushrooms and Chinese herbs make up this savory blend to keep you feeling nourished and healthy. Ingredients include Siberian Ginseng root, Cordyceps Mushroom, Reishi Mushroom, and Turmeric. Add 1-2 Tsp to hot water daily.

  • D’ao Labs Immunity Support. This classic Chinese Herbal Formula can be carried with you for take-on-the-go convenience, or used regularly during cold season when airborne pathogens are at their highest. Can be used before traveling, as daily support while those around you are sick, or right when you feel run down and that a cold is coming on. Individual packets of pear-ginger flavor, this immune boost mixes easily with water.

  • Lung & Throat Lozenges. These soothing herbal lozenges with honey support lung, throat and sinus passages. They clear heat and moisten dryness and can help a dry cough and support a clear and open airway

We are now carrying candles made by our acupuncturist, Rachel Hinnen. Treat yourself to some cozy self-care with these handmade candles. These candles smell divine and are made with tallow to provide a slow and clean burn. The scents used are phthalate-free with no harsh chemicals. Available flavors include:

  • Pumpkin Spice

  • Cinnamon

  • Vanilla

  • Black Currant Jasmine
