Align your Body and Mind with the Spring Energy
Picture a seed that has been under the soil all winter, that is now trying to sprout and push its way to the top and grow in the sun. This intense, upwards, growing energy is what also surrounds us in the spring. The organ associated with spring is the liver, the associated emotion is frustration, the color is green and the element is wood. If you find yourself having trouble sleeping, especially if you’re waking up between the time of the Liver 3:00-5:00 AM, then it might be time to get some acupuncture and do some of these activities and diet changes to help align with spring!
What’s all the fascia-bout Fascia?
Fascia is ALIVE and electric! It contains nerve endings and cells that adapt and respond to stimuli within and around fascia. Deep fascia envelops and penetrates muscles, giving rise to the term Myofascial, pertaining to both muscle (myo-) and fascia. Fascia wraps around each muscle and also around groups of muscles with similar functions creating muscle compartments. To further zoom out, fascia organizes itself into broader chains of fascia that create relationships between muscles extending from feet to head!

Learning from Nature to Live in Balance with Autumn
As we enter the season of fall, looking at how nature transitions during this time can be inspiration for what we should do as well to prepare for the colder months. In Autumn, the harvest is in full swing and animals are storing food for the winter and growing their thicker coats. Leaves and petals are dropping off plants to conserve energy and not be left out to be damaged by the elements. Fall is a time for transitioning into slowing down and storing energy for winter.

The Spleen and Stomach rule digestion which is turn helps support the building of the musculoskeletal system and in particular the nourishment of muscle tissues. Just as the Spleen and Stomach help us digest our food, they also help us “digest” and process our emotional life.
