Welcome Eleanor, our newest acupuncturist and herbalist!

We are very excited to welcome Eleanor (they/them), our newest Acupuncturist and Herbalist at Dynamic Acupuncture. Eleanor will be in the clinic starting on Thursday, September 4th 2025.

Eleanor came to Portland over 20 years ago, fell in love with it, and has been here ever since, spending most of that time living in and around the Alberta Arts District, in North and Northeast Portland.

It is important to Eleanor to bring their values into their practice, striving to create a nonjudgmental environment for their patients that does not pathologize choices and behaviors in a way that remains true to the roots of the medicine. To this end, they use a variety of modalities including needles, cupping, and subtle but deep body work influenced by their studies in qigong tuina, myofascial release, cranio sacral and visceral manipulation as well as medical qigong.

While they are happy to be very gentle with sensitive patients, they also practice some sa’am and sometimes incorporate some orthopedic style needling, depending on the patient and what seems appropriate.

Eleanor found their way to Chinese Medicine through their qigong practice, which has been a transformative journey in its own right. It has become a huge influence on many aspects of their life. The more they are able to work with qi in their own body, the more they are excited about being able to influence qi in others for the purposes of healing, whether accessing it through an acupuncture needle or with their hands.

Eleanor graduated from the National University of Chinese Medicine here in Portland with a Masters of Chinese Medicine with a specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine and they are board certified by the NCCAOM.

They have completed trainings in medical qigong and qigong tuina with Stephen Schleipfer and continue on their neigong journey with him.

When not practicing Chinese Medicine, you might find them practicing qigong, back packing or hiking, baking, connecting with their partner or friends, dancing, or just curled up with a good book and a cup of tea.
